The name "Osric" is pronounced as "OZ-rik". The first syllable is stressed and sounds like "oz" as in "wizard of Oz," and the second syllable is pronounced quickly and softly, like "rik." (That's /ˈɑz.rɪk/ in IPA.) The name comes from Old English, with [notable rulers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osric_of_Hwicce) carrying the name by the 7th century.
